Back in February, Gitta Ungvari delivered the mid-year budget report—letting elected officials know how reclassifying Netflix to an e-commerce platform affected the Town’s bottom line and pitching Council on a quarter-million-dollars in extra spending.
“The Town must operate within its legally adopted budget,” she said, commenting on the importance of fiscal responsibility, “—and administer department and budget control.”
Weeks later, the Town passed its $50.4 million financial plan. And now, Ungvari has been promoted to Interim Finance Manager. The human resources shuffle, announced July 7, also included Nicolle Burnham becoming Parks and Public Works Director and Wendy Wood being named Town Clerk.
In a release, Town Manager Laurel Prevetti said she’s excited to fill the leadership positions.
“Each of these new directors brings unique skills, talents, and experiences which strengthen our Town team,” she said.
Recruiting firm Teri Black & Co. was in charge of the selection process.
Prevetti said Ungvari has more than a decade-and-a-half of finance experience with the Town of Los Gatos, including leading work on Operating and Capital Budgets, overseeing payroll and managing business licensing
She earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
Her appointment is effective immediately.
Wood has worked in government for 12 years, including served as City Clerk for the City of Milpitas and the City of Campbell.
According to Prevetti, the Certified Municipal Clerk brings experience in agenda management, public records requests and administering elections.
The Certified Municipal Clerk, who graduated from San Jose State University, starts July 21.
Burnham has over 27 years of engineering experience in both the private and public sectors. Before coming to Los Gatos, she oversaw large park capital projects in the City of San Jose.
She’ll start her Los Gatos duties Aug 1.
