Less than three minutes into the second half, Lindsey Heaps put the ball into the net at PayPal Park in San Jose, in the 2-1 victory against Japan on Saturday.

But when they played their second of three matches against the squad last night in Seattle, the Americans lost 1-0, ending a 10-game streak.

Japan recently won the Women’s Asian Cup. After that success, their coach, Nils Nielsen, was surprisingly ousted.

Riko Ueki scored Japan’s lone goal in the San Jose match, while Jose Lavelle got the first for Team USA.

The teams are getting ready to play in Colorado on Friday.
