ballot box election vote-by-mail

Voting has begun in the Nov. 2 Los Gatos Union School District Measure B Special Election, with ballots being mailed out to active registered voters this past week.

Measure B is a parcel tax that will require a two-thirds vote to pass. The expiring $290 parcel tax was approved by voters in 2013. Now, the school district is proposing to add $45 to the tax, bringing the total to $335 per parcel, per year.

In-person early voting at the Registrar of Voters Office, 1555 Berger Drive, Building 2 in San Jose, is now available. The last day to request a replacement Vote by Mail Ballot is Oct. 26. Vote Centers will be available starting Oct. 23.

Official Ballot Drop Boxes are at the following locations in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno:

• Los Gatos Town Hall, outside Town Clerk Office, 110 East Main St.

• Monte Sereno City Hall, outside City Clerk Office, 18041 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, Monte Sereno

There are two 11-Day Vote Center locations in Los Gatos, starting Oct. 23:

• Blossom Hill Elementary School, Multipurpose Room, 16400 Blossom Hill Road
