For this week’s front page photo, we decided to feature a meditative shot by Ramana Gadagottu, which was sent in by the Art of Living nonprofit.

Volunteers put on a day of stretching, Sanskrit chants, tasty food and inspiring words at the Lyndon Bandstand at Oak Meadow Park for the International Day of Yoga, June 21.

About 80 people attended, including Saratoga Council member Nina Walia, who also spoke at the event.

The theme? Creating happier and healthier neighborhoods.

From July 2–6, Art of Living members will head to the San Jose Convention Center to immerse themselves in SKY Breath Meditation and to see Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is billed as “a world-renowned meditation master and humanitarian.”
