Muse Markets arrives in Los Gatos
Muse Markets is a vibrant new outlet for local artisans, makers and small businesses. It allows vendors to meet with attendees to buy directly from them. And the items are quite unique. This is not your typical farmers market, craft show or wine walk.
It all began in San Luis Obispo
Angela Boyd is the owner and creative force behind this concept. Her idea began as ”conscious consumption” where attendees are encouraged to buy directly from local artisans. Muse Markets started operating in the Park Plaza this April, in partnership with the Town. All vendors are required to secure a Town business permit. Muse Markets does the rest of the required paperwork for vendors. A food vendor must obtain the “Temporary Food Facility” permit, as well.
Each market typically includes: handmade goods, vintage items, food and beverages, family-friendly activities, and live music or a DJ. Muse Markets has become a recognizable regional brand for artisan pop-ups.
Once a month
These markets appear to champion creativity by curating unforgettable moments and showing local artists wares. On my first walk-through, I was delighted by the various artists, foods, ceramics and unique jewelry. It felt more like a festival than a market. These Muse Markets events help to connect local talent with a passionate audience and potential clients. You can uncover a world of inspiration, connection and craftsmanship with each visit.
Intentional impact
Muse Markets says, “as we grow, our mission remains the same: to celebrate diversity and innovation in the creative community. With larger-scale events and exciting new opportunities, we’re dedicated to supporting makers in reaching their fullest potential and engaging with a broader audience.”
The Muse Movement
There’s nothing quite like handcrafted goods, connecting with like-minded individuals and enjoying creativity. It’s always nice when a family can participate in an artistic—and fun—event together. Why not do your creative shopping here, view vintage apparel, stop for a snack or just wander in to listen to some music on a lovely Saturday afternoon outdoors.
These “not your typical” markets are scheduled through November.
Upcoming Muse Markets: June 13 and July 11, 11am-4pm, featuring independent artists and makers, food and beverage vendors, live music, workshops, a sip and stroll afternoon for the family. Friendly dog friendly bring rover (or wear him).
