‘Elderly bones’ given quite the scare by leaflet
Not much frightens these elderly bones including differing opinions, but the five-page flyer quietly left on my porch scares the living hell out of me!
Walking among us is the author of this hateful document, labeled “SILICON VALLEY TRUTH” by Lynley Kerr.
The flyer does not address differing viewpoints but instead trashes everything about Los Gatos, including our schools and government leaders—by name.
In my 50+ years in this town, I know firsthand that her accusations are not only false but spreading this kind of hate is harmful and dangerous to all of us.

How come Mayor Rob Moore is ignoring us?
As Los Gatos voters prepare to elect three Town Council members on Nov. 3, Mayor Rob Moore is asking for another term. In his campaign mailer, he writes, “Since first elected, I have prioritized transparency and communication.” The Farley Road Neighborhood Coalition (FRNC) believes it is time to put that promise to the test.
FRNC submitted a Public Records Request in mid-October knowing the Town wouldn’t respond by the election. FRNC asked Moore to voluntarily release his text messages and emails with West Valley Muslim Association (WVMA) representatives concerning the organization’s Conditional Use Permit (CUP) modification and related appeal. We never heard back from Moore. Why is he ignoring us?
FRNC’s concerns stem from specific circumstances. During the March 25, 2026, Planning Commission hearing on WVMA’s application, members of the public observed WVMA representatives texting with Moore before he arrived in the Town Council Chambers as the Commission was considering the matter. We do not know the content of those communications, nor are we claiming that texting alone establishes misconduct. But when an applicant communicates with an elected official who may later decide an appeal, the public has a legitimate interest in understanding the circumstances.
Additional questions arose after Moore’s Aug. 3 newsletter described WVMA’s appeal of approximately 20 of the CUP’s 34 conditions without acknowledging that FRNC had separately appealed the Planning Commission’s decision in its entirety. Residents deserve a complete and accurate account of a pending matter, especially when the officials who may decide it are responsible for maintaining public confidence.
This is more than a neighborhood dispute. A Town Council hearing on a land-use appeal is quasi-judicial, requiring decision-makers to evaluate the evidence and applicable law impartially. They must keep an open mind and avoid prejudging the outcome or acting as advocates for either side. California courts, including in Petrovich Development Co. v. City of Sacramento (2020) and Nasha v. City of Los Angeles (2004), have addressed principles relevant to impartial decision-making and due process. The integrity of a proceeding depends not only on its outcome, but also on public confidence that the process is fair.
FRNC is not alleging that communications alone prove bias. We are asking to see the communications so the public can better understand what occurred and have confidence in the fairness of the process. Local government depends on public trust. Residents should expect elected officials to be open, accurate and impartial—particularly when they may be called upon to decide a contentious issue affecting their constituents.
On Nov. 3, Los Gatos voters should ask themselves a simple question: Does Mayor Moore’s record demonstrate the transparency and accountability he promises? We urged Moore to release the relevant communications and heard radio silence. We will not be voting for Moore and urge Los Gatos residents to demand transparency from every candidate seeking their trust and their vote.

Halloween spirit returns to Tait Ave
Tait Avenue in Los Gatos always does it up with Halloween decorations, and this year is no different. I wanted to let you know that this year many of the houses on the Tait down by Mainstreet are doing Wizard of Themed decor. I’ve attached a picture of just one of the homes that has a Munchkinland theme, but there will be half a dozen homes or more with themes including Emerald City, the Haunted Forest and, of course, Munchkinland.
