When Teri Hope, the owner of Los Gatos Roasting Co., plans a groovy gathering on the cusp of a milestone year, Los Gatos takes note.

There was certainly plenty of love to go around at the hippie-themed 70th birthday party she threw for herself at the History Club of Los Gatos Jan. 4.

Dinner itself was sensational. From the pomegranate, kale and sweet potatoes in the Winter Cous Cous Salad, to the garlic confit in the Artichoke-Yukon Potato Puree, to the vegetable risotto and Meyer lemon brown butter vinaigrette in the Pan Seared Filet of Salmon, to the rosemary chimichurri drizzle on the Grilled “Lamp” Lollipop, CP Fine Catering brought their A-game.

Newly anointed Mayor Rob Rennie rocked a pair of violet circular specs on his nose, placing a peace-sign sticker on his shirt in a risqué upside-down orientation.

Meredith Williams, of Meredith Williams Photography, operated a photo booth with both digital photography and Polaroid options. There were plenty of props to spice things up.

Along with an assortment of creative cocktails, there were several grape-based varietals on offer from Silver Mountain Vineyards flowing.

Peace-sign and “LOVE” cupcakes nailed the burnt orange and lime green mid-century flavor.

Looking back on the trippy mayhem in an email, Hope had kind words for those who helped her make the most of arriving at the big 7-oh.

“A very special thanks to my daughter Rene for making me look a little younger, and Jessica for coordinating the awesome party of the century, Tony Lindsay, Janice Maxi-Reid and Deszon Clayborne for the entertainment and to all of you who attended and to those of you who smartly quarantined as the ever changing situations dictated!

Needless to say—I had a blast and danced the night away like a whirling dervish!”
