On Monday, El Camino Health submitted an application to the Town to replace its existing facility in Los Gatos with a new acute care campus.
The designs feature 122 single-occupancy patient rooms, 12 operating rooms, a modernized and larger emergency department, and advanced maternity, cardiac and oncology diagnostics and services.
Hospital officials said the proposed 340,000 square-foot campus, located next to the existing hospital, will be “the first all-electric hospital in Los Gatos.” They said it will contribute to a reduction in the Town’s carbon emissions.
During construction, the existing hospital will continue to operate.
