The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara is celebrating Juror Appreciation Week, which happens from May 11–15. This annual observance is meant to recognize the essential role jurors play in the justice system.
Each year, tens of thousands of Santa Clara County residents answer the call to serve as jurors.
“These individuals—reflecting the diversity and strength of our communities—bring integrity, perspective, and a deep sense of civic responsibility to courtrooms throughout the county,” a spokesperson for the Santa Clara County court system said in a release. “Their service ensures that trials are fair and impartial, reinforcing public confidence in the judicial process.”
During Juror Appreciation Week, the Court is encouraging the public to join in expressing gratitude to jurors for their service.
“Jurors serve as the cornerstone of our justice system,” said Presiding Judge Hon. Julie A. Emede. “Their willingness to dedicate time and thoughtful consideration to each case ensures fairness, strengthens our democracy, and upholds the rule of law. We are deeply grateful for their service.”
