Two people were taken to the hospital to be assessed for smoke inhalation issues and the American Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region is responding to assist the family, after a blaze broke out in Saratoga early this morning, authorities said.

Firefighters responded at around 5:30am to a 2nd alarm residential structure fire in a two-story home on the 20300 block of Saratoga Los Gatos Road, per the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

The road was closed in both directions from Aloha to Carnelian Glen.

Originally, SCCFD officials feared three patients would need to be transported to the hospital. Updates will be shared as they become available.
