Where did Los Gatans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year?

Short answer: all over town.

But I came up with a longer answer: from Hapas tap room, through Chez Phillipe (with a bite of the French version of corned beef-cabbage), an iced green matcha at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Co., then a quick green beer at the upstairs Heritage Pub, with a peek into the Second Story. On down thru Gardino’s, a “Hello” to the regulars at The Black Watch, and ending up at the main event—Campo Di Bocce’s “Little Ireland”—which rocked-on until 11pm.

Remembering St. Patrick’s Day past

CB Hannegan’s opened their doors in Sept. 1979. From then on (38 years) Los Gatans went there to celebrate on March 17.

Sadly CB’s closed their doors nine years ago with a “Last Call” party on Dec. 28, 2017.

This beloved local tradition continues on, now at Campo.

Irish-Italian?

Campo turns into Dublin, Galloway and County Cork each year now, with stages both outdoors and indoors. Irish music plays and Guinness stout flows. It certainly did indeed feel like Ireland—in a heat wave. The “wearing of the green” was everywhere. Leprechauns were sighted. This year’s event also served as a fundraiser for Los Gatos Music in the Park and the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Foundation
