This year‘s national Turkey Bowl flag football competition—33 years in the making—was deemed a major success by organizers.

Participants assembled at Creekside Sports Park in Los Gatos on Thanksgiving morning.

Three hard-fought games were held.

Last year‘s winner, Blackhawks captain Joey Cope, failed to retain the coveted trophy.

Instead, it was the Red Riders and Yellow team advancing to the championship game.

That’s where the Yellow team—aka “the old men”—took it all.

In the end it was the Yellow team that won this year’s Turkey Bowl.

“Congratulations to them,” said organizer Matt Ober, calling The National Turkey Bowl League the place where athletes are reborn once a year on Thanksgiving Day. “We wanted to thank our supporters The Alarm Company, Gardinos, Double D’s Sports Grill, Forbes Mill Steak House, Don Knight and Robin Sedgwick with Coldwell Banker, Epernay, Los Gatos Meats, F45 and Sorelle Italian Bistro.”
