Two more Los Gatos High sports teams have clinched league championships in the current winter sports season.

With the school having already won titles in girls basketball and wrestling, the boys basketball team pulled off a remarkable repeat title season. A year after earning a share of the El Camino Division championship, the Wildcats were promoted to the league’s upper De Anza Division and won it outright after a 37-35 win over Mountain View on Feb. 10, avenging their only league loss in the process.

Tommy Ankenbrandt had eight points and eight rebounds, Scotty Brennan finished with seven points and three blocks, and Nolan Koch grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Meanwhile, the Los Gatos girls soccer team went into its Feb. 14 regular-season finale against Wilcox primed to clinch an outright Santa Clara Valley Athletic League El Camino Division championship.

And they did just that, dominating the Chargers 4-1 to finish 11-0-1 in league play. Brynn Gipson screed two goals and Leila Pozas and Sam Elliott had one goal each in the victory.

Look for a full game report and a story on the team on this website and in next week’s edition of the Los Gatan.
