Severe Thrill prepares “dance party pop” for The Cats
The Cats presents “Severe Thrill, a musical salute to chart topping ladies” on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6pm. No Cover. Call ahead 408-354-3060 to make a reservation for the “Best BBQ in the South Bay.”
Severe Thrill is a modern pop / funk / dance / rock cover band made up of Sarah Vincenty (lead vocals), Mike Lazarus (bass), Justin McCoy (drums, vocals) and Brendan Whelan (guitar); the show will feature the hits of Adele, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson and more.
Breaking Dawn grand opening
Breaking Dawn Restaurant will hold its grand opening on Thursday, Feb. 15, 5-6pm, with Mayor Badame cutting the ceremonial ribbon at 5pm.
Organizers urge community members to come to celebrate the Year of the Dragon at 160 W Main Street (the old Blue Line Pizza building) with delicious food and good company. The restaurant says it’s aiming for a “created by foodies for foodies” vibe, where people looking for the perfect hair-of-the-dog mimosa to cure their hangover will feel welcome.
“We source the best market-fresh produce and seasonal ingredients from local producers and vendors,” a spokesperson said.
Local Kitchens fundraising for Daves Avenue Elementary
Local Kitchens in Los Gatos is hosting a fundraiser for Daves Avenue Elementary School on Feb. 7. The all-day event is raising money for education by donating 20% of fundraiser-applicable sales to the Daves Avenue Home and School Club.
