Blood drive adds Stanford partnership
We at Rotary Club of Los Gatos are so very proud of all the things we do in the community. And on March 21, we will be having one of our favorite events.
We’ve done a blood drive for three years now, but this is the first time we’re doing it with the Stanford Blood Center. And they are amazing.
In fact, each donor who registers gets a $20 e-gift card.
I’m including the flier that has all the details and the link to register to give blood.
You have all become our great friends, and we thank you so much for your support.

What to do when honey bees swarm your yard
Every spring, honey bee swarms appear in backyards, on fences, and in trees. Most people have no idea what they’re looking at or who to call. And honey bee-swarm-season starts in the next few weeks.
As a Los Gatos resident who is a beekeeper and a member of the Santa Clara County Bee Guild, I collect swarms of honey bees and would love to help your readers understand what to do when it happens to them. I’ve been collecting swarms for the past few years (I do it for free, but a small number of beekeepers in the guild do charge). I can tell you that when I remove the bees for homeowners they are extremely grateful. But a lot of people don’t know who to call or what to do when they have a swarm.
Swarms are temporary, generally gentle and beekeepers actively want them, so contacting them is all it takes to save the bees. If readers want to find help, they can report any bee situation at beeswarmed.org/report-bee-colony, which connects them directly with local beekeepers.
