Though it was a wet chilly Monday evening, just over 100 jazz enthusiasts and supporters gathered, Dec. 22, eager for some cozy winter jazz for the first Los Gatos Music & Arts “Spreading Joy to the World of Jazz—a Holiday Benefit.” The winter fundraiser took place at the beautifully decorated Rinconada Hills Clubhouse in Los Gatos.

One can hope that this will become a regular winter jazz event. It came together with the help of legendary jazz vocalist Tony Lindsay’s touring schedule. There were charcuterie boards and delicious cakes. It was a relaxing evening to remember, to savor.

Grammy Award–winning vocalist Lindsay was there with the soulful Janice Maxie-Reid and friends entertaining the evening away. Lindsay had just returned from performing in Zurich, Switzerland and was in excellent form.

It was all for a good cause: to raise money for next year’s Jazz on the Plazz concert series and music education for youth.
