Los Gatos High School hosted the annual Charlie Wedemeyer All Star Game on Feb. 3, with the South team defeating the North squad, 28-6.
The game features top graduating players from Santa Clara County and proceeds benefit ALS and Coaches Against Cancer.

Charlie Wedemeyer was a beloved teacher and football coach at LGHS, and his story—living with ALS for 33 years after being given one to three years to live upon his diagnosis in 1977—became a PBS documentary and made-for-TV movie.

This year, LGHS seniors Jaylen Thomas, Boxer Kopcsak-Yeung, Henry Anslinger and George Charles played for the North. Mitty coach Danny Sullivan, a 2006 LGHS graduate who led the Wildcats to a 2005 Central Coast Section championship at quarterback, guided the North team and played in the 2006 Wedemeyer game.
