Robert (Bob) Krampetz, born on March 8, 1937, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in his San Jose home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Bellerose, NY.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was educated in computer science and retired from IBM after 26 years as a computer programmer. Bob later worked for McAfee in antivirus software and was transferred to Portland, Oregon, where he and his beloved wife, Carol, lived for 25 years.
He loved living in Oregon but ultimately returned to San Jose to be near family.
Bob always said he collected hobbies.
He was active in aquarium societies in San Jose and Portland. He collected stamps, coins, and first-day covers. He also enjoyed sculpting and painting and was a gifted artist.
Bob was a bright and interesting man who loved to entertain with stories and jokes. His daughters said their friends envied them because their father was so much fun.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 35 years; two children—Lori Krampetz of Portland, Oregon, and Michelle Meister (Pierre) of Grass Valley, California; and two stepchildren—Paul Weiner (Amy) of Penfield, New York, and Eileen Olmos of San Jose, California.
