The Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association, a volunteer-based nonprofit softball league, held its opening day on Saturday.
The season, which goes until October, features participants from across the wider Los Gatos community.

The competitive fastpitch tournament team is called the “Magic.”

Practices occur multiple times a week, and some games happen outside the local area, such as in Napa, San Luis Obispo and Lake Tahoe.
Family members of the players often volunteer doing field prep and helping with the snack bar.
Dr. Lindsay Huston was the keynote speaker at the opening ceremonies.

She played for the Magic as a kid and went on to become a UC Berkeley head team physician.

Los Gatos – Saratoga Girls Softball Association (LGSGSA) is an all-volunteer based non-profit and tax-exempt entity under section 501(c) (3) of the IRS code.
