The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified the man who was killed in a Cambrian Park traffic collision this week as a 76-year-old San Jose resdient.

Yongde Wo was killed around 4:20am Monday when his motorized scooter collided with a vehicle, Jacqueline Soriano, a specialist with the agency, said Wednesday.

San Jose Police Department Sgt. Jorge Garibay said officers responded to the intersection of Camden Avenue and Highway 85, just northeast of Los Gatos in San Jose, to investigate a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a scooterist.

The preliminary investigation found a 2023 Gray Chevy Trailblazer, occupied by an adult female driver, was traveling westbound on Branham Lane through a green light at the intersection with Camden Avenue.

The SUV struck Wo, who was on an e-scooter headed southbound on Camden.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

It marked the 28th fatal collision, and the 29th traffic death of 2023, for San Jose.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact the San José Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit at  [email protected] or 408-277-4654.
