According to the Marine Toys for Tots organization, its goal is to spread joy and hope to America’s less fortunate children at Christmas by collecting and distributing—you guessed it—toys.

Now a local company, JAS Interior Designs, has come up with a unique way of contributing to these efforts.

In a Q&A with the Los Gatan, Junior Interior Designer Martha Queiroz says they’re offering free 15-minute design consultations to anyone who helps fill their bin.

How did the partnership with this organization begin?

JAS Interior Designs LLC volunteered its interior design studio as a drop off location through their NARI Silicon Valley affiliation (that stands for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry).

We are one of six drop off locations throughout Silicon Valley. NARI is a not-for-profit National organization of remodeling professionals.

What sort of products are people encouraged to bring?

Unwrapped new toys—any and all accepted.

Anything else you wanted to mention about this project or other initiatives / events going on this holiday season?

We are happy to offer a 15-minute design consultation to anyone dropping off a gift.

Every child deserves the joy of receiving a gift during the holidays.

Janine Arietta, Allied ASID (owner/designer), and I (Martha Queiroz, designer), from JAS Interior Designs LLC have teamed up with the Marine Toys for Tots Program to collect unwrapped, new toys for kids up to 16 years of age through our affiliation with NARI.

We want to do our part to bring joy and hope to less fortunate children in our community during this holiday season.

Our big box would love to be filled with lots of goodies!

We are told that gifts for older children are much in need, but we will take anything you bring.

Pay it forward by bringing delight to a child this holiday season!

Where should people bring their donations?

Please drop off at our design studio, located at 213 Bean Ave (next to St Mary’s Church) in Los Gatos, from 10am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday, through Dec. 16.

In appreciation, we are happy to offer a complimentary 15 minute design consultation to anyone dropping off a toy.

Janine and Martha are looking forward to getting to know their neighbors, and helping Toys for Tots with their toy drive.
